Soda Pop Tops

I showed this card in my embossing folders video (you can see it here) but I realized that I never showed the card in a post.  The center of my flower was made using a flattened Soda Pop Top (#129388  $3.95 for 8 of each size) in the Spring Catalog!   I simply placed one in my Big Shot and it quickly and beautifully flattened it!  It gives my card  such a pretty sparkle.  I really wasn't drawn to these when I first saw them but I just love them now! Isn't that the way it always is?
My paper, Print Poetry Designer Series Paper Pack,  is also from the Spring Catalog.  My flower and the strip of paper under the DSP is Raspberry Ripple, one of our In Colors.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  If you would like to order any of these products, you can visit my Stampin' Up! online store!

Spotlight on Tools #4 Clear Mount Stamp Cases

Welcome to the fourth installment of my series, "Spotlight on Tools." This week I am focusing on Stampin' Up! Clear Mount Stamp Cases (#119105  $5.95 for a package of 4).  These are great for storing stamps that you've converted from wood to clear.  I also store my single stamps from the recent promotions in these as well since they do not come in a case.
The Stamp Cases are also perfect for storing Framelits. I used a different designer series paper for each one and slipped it between the "cover" and the actual case.  Because the case is clear, I can see the other side of the paper on the inside.  I bought some magnet sheets from a home improvement store (they are covers for heater registers), cut them down to the size I wanted and placed the magnet on one side of the case using Sticky Strip.  In the last picture you can see that I put the packaging on the left hand side but I only included that with a few of my sets.  I have an electronic label maker and put a label on the end of the case so that I can quickly see the set names.  I am so much happier with this system and it has definitely saved time!

If you've struggled with a way to organize your Framelits, I hope this will work for you!!

Scallop Envelope Easter Basket

Today I have a basket that could be used for any occasion.  My Easter basket was made using the Bigz Scallop Envelope die.  Yes, the die is meant to be used as an envelope but when you attach four of them together, you get this cute little basket!!  You can see the actual die below.  I cut out four of them and then trimmed off one of the flaps.  Then I laid them side by side and attached them together with Sticky Strip!  So easy! I also used Sticky Strip on each of the scalloped flaps.  I couldn't decide whether to leave them up or adhere them but ended up with them flat.

If you have this die, why don't you pull it out and give it a try?  Or, you can purchase one at my online store by simply clicking HERE.

For the Birds

Happy Monday!  I hope you had a nice weekend!

Last week I shared several cards that I made using my colored pencils and blender pen.  Here's one more but I used the stamp set, For the Birds.  I sent this card off to one of my former students, who is now a third grader, to just say hi.  I hope he likes it!

As you can see, I didn't use the sentiment that came with it.  I used my Kraft Scissors and cut that part off of my stamp.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Tomorrow is the LAST DAY!!

Tomorrow is the last day to receive free items for every $50 that you purchase in Stampin' Up! products!!!! My card today uses the set Patterned Occasions, one of the free sets that you can choose from!!

Are you wondering how I was able to make my leaves a different color than the rest of the stamped image?  It was very easy.  First,  I stamped the entire image in Rich Razzleberry.  Then I used my blender pen and removed the Rich Razzleberry from the leaves.  Once it was completely off, I used my marker and colored my leaves with Old Olive!  So simple!!

If you would like to place an order from my Online Store, just click HERE!!  Sale-a-bration ends tomorrow!!!!

Spotlight on Tools #3

The tool I'm spotlighting today is Grid Paper (#102787)  $9.95)! I always use a sheet of it to protect my work surface when I'm making my cards.  Each piece is 11" x 17" which is a nice big size.  You receive 100 sheets so it will definitely last a long time!!  What you can't see in the photo above is that there's a great ruler at the bottom.  I also use the lines to help me line up titles..  The bottom picture shows you common dimensions of cards and has an area where you can write down supplies that you are running low on.  I don't know about you, but if I don't write it down immediately, it's GONE (until the next time when I need it)! I also use my paper to try out a stamp before I actually ink it up on my card.  I'd be lost without my grid paper!

Thank you for stopping by!  You can visit my online store and purchase your own Grid Paper!  Add a few more supplies and you'll be able to choose a free product  during Sale-a-bration which ends on Thursday!!!

Easy Events Thank You

Today my card uses the Stampin' Up! set, Easy Events.  I don't use this set often and I am not sure why!  It is so cute.  I made several cards with it the other day and I will show them all this week.  I was over at Maggie Patterson's blog and she used this color combination.  I immediately knew I wanted to try it (Melon Mambo, Pretty in Pink, Marina Mist)!  I stamped my image with StazOn so that the ink wouldn't smear.  Then I used my colored pencils and a blender pen.  It was very relaxing to sit and color!  My Melon Mambo Striped Organdy ribbon is from the Spring Catalog.  It is also available in Old Olive and Marina Mist.  Such pretty Spring colors!

Have a great day!

Recover Rapidly

I love this set, Patterned Occasions!  I wasn't quite sure at first how I wanted to use this particular stamp but I am happy with how it turned out.  I used Crumb Cake ink for the bandaid and it is just the right shade of brown. The heart was punched out using the Small Heart punch with Red Glimmer paper.  As I am sitting here typing this post,  I'm realizing that I didn't put small holes around the red oval.  I will add that touch next time!

This is such a cute set but is only available until March 22nd which is next Friday!  Time is running out!  How can you get one?  Place a $50 order at my online store.  You will then be prompted to enter the item number for your freebie!  You can choose an item for EACH $50 worth of product that you order.  You can click on each page of the flyer to see it larger.  If you have any questions, let me know!

Spotlight on Tools #2

Have you ever been in the situation where you have almost finished a card and you then you notice that there is a a sticky dirty-looking piece of adhesive on it???  You may have thought that you card was ruined but this somewhat overlooked tool is the answer!!  It is called an Adhesive Remover (#103684  $3.50).  It works just like an eraser and you can erase the unwanted mark on your card.  It has saved many of my cards!! It works best with Snail Adhesive, not a tape, such as Sticky Strip.  If the surface of the remover becomes gummy, simply slice off the top layer!  This is definitely a crafting tool that you will want to have in your crafting toolbox.

You can find the Adhesive Remover on page 177 in the Annual Stampin' Up! catalog, in the lower right hand corner.

Thanks for stopping by!!  You can order directly from my online store by clicking here!  Sale-a-bration ends in TEN DAYS!! Place your $50 order and receive free product.  Contact me today for more information!

Embossing Folders

Happy Monday!  I hope you had an enjoyable weekend and that you were able to adjust to the time change with Daylight Savings Time in effect.  It is always difficult the first day, isn't it?  I did enjoy the fact that it didn't get dark until later in the evening!

I spent my Sunday working on a video for today.  I have a new computer AND a new editing program so it took some time trying to learn it.  Thank goodness for YouTube videos as I saw some there that helped me out!! I tend to be a perfectionist but realized if I waited for this video to be perfect, I would never post it!!!  So, here it is!

Last week I spotlighted the Big Shot so I wanted to make a video showing how to use the embossing folders.  I LOVE my embossing folders and use them on 95% of my cards.

Have a great day!

Everybunny Treat Holder

We made this cute little treat holder at my Stamp Clubs this month. I used a half sheet of 8 1/2 x 11 cardstock  (4 1/2 x 11).  I scored it at 1 1/2 and 6 1/2 inches.  Before embossing the front, I used one of the ovals from the Ovals Collection Framelits to cut out the front.  I stamped the front of the cello bag with StazOn Opaque (white).  It dries pretty quickly and adds such a nice finishing touch to the project.  I attached small velcro dots, which I bought at a local hardware store, to the 2 3/8 Scallop Oval. Once I shut it, the other half of the Velcro was exactly where I wanted it!  The trick is to put your candy inside FIRST before you attach the velcro.  I did it the other way around the first time and it wouldn't shut properly.  I hope this inspires you to give it a try!

Spotlight on Tools #1

There are so many tools in the Stampin' Up! catalog that make papercrafting so much fun!! Each Wednesday, I will choose one to spotlight and for my very first one, I've chosen my VERY favorite, the Big Shot!!  It is a die-cutting machine that doesn't use electricity.  With just a quick turn of the handle, you can do so much!! Here are two very similar cards.

The big difference between them is that I chose to use a Big Shot embossing folder for the one with the sentiment towards the lower half of the card.  I use embossing folders all the time and this one, Perfect Polka Dots, is one that I reach for the most.

You can also cut shapes out with the Big Shot.  I used it to cut out my flowers, leaves, and the Whisper White and Elegant Eggplant shapes using Framelits.  If you look closely, you'll see that I used the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder again.

I made this project in October using the Cannery Set Framelits to make a cut out shape and the cute little top for it.
Stampin' Up! continues to come out with new products for the Big Shot. I could spend all day telling you how much I love this machine! The cost of the Big Shot (#113439) is $99.95 but if you were to purchase it now during Sale-a-bration and were to combine it with an embossing folder ($7.95), you would be able to pick out TWO free products from the brochure!

An even better option is to purchase the NO RISK Starter Kit for $99.  Because it is the 25th Anniversary of Stampin' Up! this year, you can choose $156 worth of products from the Stampin' Up! catalog for $99!  You would be able to get a Big Shot and other accessories!!!  You would then become a member of the Stampin' Up! family and be able to purchase Stampin' Up! products at discounted prices.  I mentioned that the Starter Kit is risk free which it absolutely IS!  You would have three months to reach the minimum purchase of $300.  This means that you can buy products just for yourself, which is what I did in the beginning,  or you can invite your friends to a party!  If you don't reach the goal of three hundred dollars, no problem.  No one will call and hassle you.  You would simply be dropped.  If this sounds intriguing to you and you have questions, email me!  If you want to take advantage of this right now, you can go right to my SU! website and sign up!  On the top right, you'll see JOIN THE FUN!  Click that and within a few minutes, you will be able to complete the sign up process.  Be sure to have your catalog nearby so you can choose $156 worth of product for $99!!!!!

Patterned Occasions

The inspiration for my card came from Connie Babbert.  When I saw her card, I instantly fell in love.  I made a few subtle changes with the products I had on hand.  I love the new Honeycomb Embossing folder and it is so striking on this card!  The beautiful paper comes from the Print Poetry paper stack  (#129312) in the Spring Catalog.  There are 48 sheets - 4 each of 12 double-sided designs and each sheet measure 4 1/2 x 6 1/2.  It really is a beautiful pack of paper!

The cute coffee cup comes from a Sale-a-bration set called Patterned Occasions (Wood #12962  or Clear #129624).  It can be yours FREE with a $50 order but only until March 22nd!!!  If you've had your eye on this stamp set, be sure to get it before it's too late!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I hope your week has started off well!!
