Gated Fold Card Thank You

Today I have another Gated Fold Card for you.  It uses the new Polka Dot Parade DSP.  Another variation of this card would be to put a belly band around it with the sentiment attached to it.

Can you believe that it is almost September???  My first grandchild, a girl, is due on September 23rd.  I've NEVER been more excited for the month of September!!!

Triple Time Stamping

Back in June I learned about the Triple Time Stamping Technique from Dawn Olchefske on her blog.   I made this card some time ago but forgot to post it.  If you would like to learn how to make this card, you can see a video on Dawn's site here.  It is VERY simple to put together and it looks much harder than it really is!  I used Elegant Eggplant and Perfect Plum.  Give it a try!

Gated Fold Card

Yesterday I showed you a card that I received at Convention.  I loved it so much that I created my own version, also using Floral District DSP.  The card yesterday was a 3x3 card but my card is a regular sized one. Actually, since I had never done this particular fold before, I thought it would be easier to try it in the larger size.

Another Convention Swap

Here's another card I received at Convention.  I love it!  It is a Gated Fold card and it was made by Susan Barron.  I love what she did on the inside as well.  It uses the Floral District DSP.  Tomorrow I will share a card I made using this fold.

Floral District Dahlia

My card today is made using the Dahlia fold.  I've shown cards on my blog before using this technique and it is one that I really, really like.  It is fun to try it with the different papers that Stampin' Up! carries.  This one uses the Floral District pack which is currently my very favorite!  Tomorrow I'll show you a card using another paper in this pack!

Thank you for stopping by!

Convention Swap

My card today is one that I received at Convention from Karen Perry.  I think it is so pretty.  The bottom photo shows what she has on the inside.  When I get the chance, I'd like to recreate this beautiful card using different colors/paper!

Ribbon Card

My card today was inspired by a card I received from Dawn Griffith, my upline, at Convention. She was also a presenter and showed us how to make this card in Salt Lake City.  You can see one of her cards (as well as a video) using this technique, here. If you have scraps of ribbon sitting around, you will want to give this a try or even if you don't.  I didn't have a stash of scraps so I just grabbed some ribbon that appealed to me.

Speaking of videos, I've been working on making a video. Well, not A video but I've been teaching myself the ins and out of making one.  Just trying to figure out how to set up the camera on the tripod and then editing it certainly takes time.  So, one of these days I will present my first of many videos, I hope.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  You can order Stampin' Up! supplies, 24/7, on my website, here. Just click SHOP NOW, underneath my name.

Welcome Flower

It's funny how a card can come to be.   Yesterday I sat down at my craft table and I wasn't really sure what I was going to make.  I looked around the table and saw a few bits and pieces from my crafting last week.  Last week I showed you a purse card with a Melon Mambo embossed flower.  I had also tried making one on Daffodil Delight cardstock but I didn't really like it for the purse card.  I had also tried embossing a piece from the set A Fitting Occasion.  I used white embossing powder on Gumball Green (my new favorite color) but I put it aside because it just didn't really go with my card.  So I started playing around with these two pieces and Voila!, my card was created. I also used the CUTE new scallop circle punch (#127811).

The Idea Book & Catalog is a great place to go for inspiration.  My original inspiration for the embossed green Modern Label piece came from a picture on page 100 of the catalog.  From there my creativity went forward!  Give it a try, look through the catalog and see where it leads you!

Purse Card Part 2

I had several requests to post the measurements/directions for the Purse Card I posted yesterday so I decided to do a picture tutorial.  It's my first one, so here goes!!!

I used Midnight Muse for the base of my card which I cut at 4 1/2 x 11 and scored at 4 ¾, 5 ½, and 6 ¼ .  Fold on the 5 1/2 score line and fold the other two score lines in the opposite way (mountain fold and two valley folds).
Using your Big Shot and the Scallop Circle Bigz die, cut out one piece in Midnight Muse. Fold the piece in half being sure to match up the scallops, open it up and run it through the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder.  Make two holes right below the score line, this will be for your handle.

Place your ribbon through the holes and adhere them to the inside with Sticky Strip.  Attach two more lines of Sticky Strip so that your purse will be nice and secure.
Remove the outer covering of the sticky strip (the red pieces) and adhere one end of the purse base right up to the score line of the scallop circle. My picture shows a piece of Daffodil Delight just so it is easier for you to see.

The next step is to adhere a medium flat cellophane bag on the inside.  I cut it down to 4 1/2 inches.  Place Sticky Strip on the sides (you can also attach a strip on the bottom edge as well).  Be sure to place the Sticky Strip on the SEAM side of the bag.  Place it inside your purse.
I also attached a piece of Velcro to hold the purse together.  Your purse is done!  All you need to do is decorate it! I used Melon Mambo (4 1/4 x 3 3/4), Midnight Mue (3 1/2 x 4) and Whisper White (3 1/4 x 3 3/4) which I also ran through the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder.
If you decide to make one, I would love to see what you've done!  If you have any questions, please let me know! I hope I made the directions clear enough for you!

Purse Card

Today's card is a "purse" that you could use to place a gift card or  small card.  I used only one of our cellophane bags but you could very easily add another one to the opposite side and place a card in it. Or you could put a card in the envelope and use a glue dot to adhere a gift card to the opposite side directly onto the cardstock.  There are so many different options!

I used a technique on my flower and leaves that I saw the Stampin' Up! co-founder, Shelli Gardner demonstrate at Convention. I used the large flower from the stamp set Betsy's Blossoms. I inked it up with Versamark onto Melon Mambo, Midnight Muse and Gumball Green cardstock.  Then I sprinkled clear embossing powder over it.  Using our new heat gun, it magically transformed my flower image!  I then used the Blossom Punch, new 1 1/4 inch Scallop Circle punch and the Blossoms Builder Punch and cut out my shapes.  Each one has the design from the stamp and in person it is very shiny.  I love the effect! My sentiment was cut out with the new Bitty Banners Framelits.

If you have any questions, let me know.  Thank you for stopping by!!
